Proverbs Chapter 9 7-12

Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult;
and he that rebukes a wicked man incurs abuse.
Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you;
rebuke a wise man and he will love you.
Give instruction to a wise man and he will be wiser;
teach a just man and he will increase in learning.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
For by me your days shall be multiplied,
and the years of your life shall increase.
If you are wise your wisdom shall reward you;
if you are a mocker, you alone shall suffer.
