Psalm 150

Praise ye the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary:
praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him for his mighty acts:
praise him according to his excellent greatness.
Praise him with the sound of the trumpet:
praise him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise him with the timbrel and dance:
praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 149

Praise ye the LORD.
Sing unto the LORD a new song,
and his praise in the congregation of the saints.
Let Israel rejoice in him that made him:
let the children of Zion be joyful in their king.
Let them praise his name in the dance:
let the sing praises unto him with the timbrel and the harp.
For the LORD takes pleasure in his people:
he will beautify the meek with salvation.
Let the saints be joyful in glory:
let them sing aloud on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
and a twoedged sword in their hand;
To execute vengeance on the heathen,
and punishments on the people;
To bind their kings with chains,
and their nobles with fetters of iron:
To execute upon them the judgement written:
this honour have all his saints.
Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 148

Praise ye the LORD.
Praise ye the LORD from the heavens:
praise him in the heights.
Praise him all his angels:
praise him all his hosts.
Praise him sun and moon:
praise him all you stars of light.
Praise him you heaven of heavens,
and waters that be above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the LORD:
for he commanded and they were created.
He has also stablished them for ever and ever:
he has made a decree which shall not pass.
Praise the LORD from the earth,
you dragons, and all deeps:
Fire and hail;
snow and vapour;
stormy wind fulfilling his word:
Mountains and all hills;
fruitful trees and all cedars:
Beasts and all cattle;
creeping things and flying fowl:
Kings of the earth,
and all people;
princes and all judges of the earth:
Both young men and maidens;
old men and children:
Let them praise the name of the LORD:
for his name alone is excellent;
his glory is above the earth and heaven.
he also exalts the horn of his people,
the praise of all his saints;
even of the children of Israel,
a people near to him.
Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 147

Praise ye the LORD:
for it is good to sing praises unto our God;
for it is pleasant and praise is fitting.
The LORD builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the broken hearted
and binds up their wounds.
He determines the number of stars
and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord, and of great power;
his understanding is infinite.
The LORD lifts up the meek:
he casts the wicked down to the ground.
Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving;
sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
Who covers the heavens with clouds,
who prepares rain for the earth,
who makes grass to grow upon the mountains..
He gives to the beast his food,
and to the young ravens which cry.
He delights not in the strength of the horse:
he takes not pleasure in the legs of a man.
The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him,
in those that hope in his mercy.
Praise the LORD,
O Jerusalem;
praise your God, O Zion.
For he has strengthened the bars of your gates;
he has blessed your children within you.
He makes peace in your borders,
and fills you with the finest of the wheat.
He sends forth his commandment upon the earth:
his word runs swiftly.
He gives snow like wool:
he scatters the hoarfrost like ashes.
He casts forth his ice like morsels:
who can stand before his cold?
he sends out his word, and melts them:
he causes his wind to blow,
and the waters flow.
He shows his word unto Jacob,
his statutes and his judgements to Israel.
He has not dealt so with any nation:
and as for his judgements,
they have not known them.
Praise ye the LORd.

Psalm 146

Praise ye the LORD.
Praise the LORD, O my soul.
While I live will I praise the LORD:
I will sing praises onto my God as long as I live.
Put not your trust in princes,
nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
His breath goes forth,
he returns to his earth;
in that very day his thoughts perish.
Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help,
whose hope is in the LORD his God:
which made heaven, and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them -
the LORD who remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The LORD sets the prisoners free,
the LORD gives sight to the blind,
the LORD raises them that are bowed down:
the LORD loves the righteous.
The LORD watches over the alien,
he sustains the fatherless and the widows
but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
The LORD shall reign for ever,
your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 145

I will extol you, my God, my king;
and I will bless your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will bless you;
and I will praise your name for ever and ever,.
Great is the LORD,
and greatly to be praised;
and his greatness is unsearchable.
One generation shall praise your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
I will speak of the glorious honour of your majesty,
and of your wondrous works.
And men shall speak of the might of your terrible acts:
and I will declare your greatness.
They will celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
The LORD is gracious and full of compassion;
slow to anger, and of great mercy.
The LORD is good to all:
and his tender mercies are over all his works.
All thy works shall praise you, O LORD;
and your saints shall bless you.
They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom,
and talk of your power;
To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts,
and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures throughout all generations.
The LORD upholds all that fall,
and raises up all that are bowed down.
The eyes of all wait upon you;
and you give them their meat in due season.
You open your hand,
and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
The LORD is righteous in all his ways,
and holy in all his works.
The LORD is near to all who call upon him,
to all that call upon him in truth.
He will fulfil the desires of them that fear him,
he will also hear their cry,
and will save them.
The LORD preserves all them that love him;
but the wicked will he destroy.
My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD:
and all flesh shall bless his holy name for ever.

Psalm 144

Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle.
He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield in whom I take refuge,
who subdues people under me.
O LORD, what is man that you care for him,
the son of man that you think of him?
Man is like a breath;
his days are like a fleeting shadow.
Part your heavens, O LORD,
and come down;
touch the mountains,
so that they smoke.
Send forth lightning and scatter the enemies;
shoot your arrows and rout them.
Reach down your hand from on high;
deliver me and rescue me from the mighty waters,
from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
I will sing a new song to you, O God;
on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
to the One who gives victory to kings,
who delivers his servant David
from the deadly sword.
Deliver me and rescue me
from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
Then our sons in their youth
will be like well nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
carved to adorn a palace.
Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;
our oxen will draw heavy loads.
There will be no breaching of walls,
no going into captivity,
no cry of distress in our streets.
Blessed are the poor of whom this is true;
blessed are the people whose God is the LORD.

Psalm 143

Hear my prayer, O LORD,
give ear to my supplications:
in your faithfulness answer me,
and in your righteousness.
Do not bring your servant into judgement:
for in your sight shall no man living be justified.
For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
he has smitten my life into the ground;
he has made me to dwell in the darkness,
as those that have been long dead.
Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me;
my heart within me is desolate.
I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all thy works;
I muse on the works of your hands.
I stretch forth my hands unto you:
my soul thirsts for you, like a thirsty land.
Selah
Hear me speedily, O LORD:
my spirit fails:
hide not your face from me,
lest I be like them that go down into the pit.
Cause me to hear your lovingkindness in the morning;
for in you do I trust:
cause me to know the ways wherein I should walk;
for I lift my soul to you.
Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies:
I flee unto you to hide me.
Teach me to do your will;
for you are my God:
your spirit is good;
lead me into the land of uprightness.
Quicken me, O LORD,
for your name's sake;
for your righteousness' sake
bring my soul out of trouble.
And of your mercy cut off my enemies,
and destroy all them  that afflict my soul;
for I am your servant.

Psalm 142

I cried unto the LORD with my voice;
with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.
I poured out my complaint before him;
I showed before him my trouble.
When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,
then you knew my path.
In the way when I walked,
they have secretly laid a snare for me.
I looked to the right,
but there was no man that would know me:
refuge failed me;
no man cared for my soul.
I cried unto you, O LORD:
you are my refuge
and my portion in the land of the living.
Hear my cry;
for I am brought very low;
deliver me from my persecutors;
for they are stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of prison
that I may praise your name:
the righteous shall compass me about;
for you will deal bountifully with me.

Psalm 141

LORD, I cry to you:
make haste to me;
give ear to my voice,
when I cry to you.
May my prayer be set forth before you as incense;
and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice.
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth;
keep the door of my lips.
Incline not my heart to any evil thing,
to practise wicked works with men who are evildoers:
and let me not eat of their dainties.
Let the righteous smite me;
it shall be a kindness:
and let him reprove me;
it shall be an excellent oil,
which shall not break my head.
Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers.
When their judges are overthrown in stony places,
they shall hear my words;
for they are sweet.
Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth,
as when one cuts and cleaves wood upon the earth.
But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD:
in you is my trust;
leave not my soul destitute.
Keep me from the snares they have laid for me,
from the traps set by evildoers.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets,
while I pass by in safety.

Psalm 140

Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man,
preserve me from the violent man;
who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day.
They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent;
adders' poison is under their lips
Selah
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked;
preserve me from the violent man;
who plans to trip my feet.
The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords;
they have spread a net by the wayside;
they have set traps for me.
Selah
I said to the LORD,
Thou art my God;
hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.
O God the Lord,
the strength of my salvation,
you have covered my head in the day of battle.
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked;
further not his wicked plans;
lest they exalt themselves.
Selah
As for the head of those that compass me about,
let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
Let burning coals fall on them;
let them be cast into the fire;
into deep pits, that they rise not up again.
Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth;
evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.
I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted
and the right of the poor.
Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name:
the upright shall dwell in your presence.

Psalm 139

O LORD, you have searched me and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in - behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"
even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you
because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together
in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
How precious to me are your thoughts,
O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.
If only you would slay the wicked, O God!
Away from me, you bloodthirsty men!
They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD,
and abhor those who rise up against you?
I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them as enemies.
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 138

I will praise you, O LORD,
with all my heart;
before the "gods" I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple
and will praise your name
for your love and your faithfulness,
for you have exalted above all things
your name and your word.
When I called, you answered me;
you made me bold and stouthearted.
All the kings of earth shall praise you, O LORD,
when they hear the words of your mouth.
Yes, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD;
for great is the glory of the LORD.
Though the LORD is on high,
he looks upon the lowly,
but the proud he knows from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you will revive me:
you will stretch forth your hand
against the wrath of my enemies,
and your right hand shall save me.
The LORD will perfect that which concerns me:
your mercy, O LORD,
endures for ever:
forsake not the work of your hands.

Psalm 137

By the rivers of Babylon,
there we sat down,
yea, we wept,
when we remembered Zion.
We hung our harps upon the willows
in the midst thereof.
For there they that carried us away captive
required of us a song;
and they that wasted us required of us mirth,
saying "Sing us one of the songs of Zion."
How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
let my right hand forget its skill.
If I do not remember you,
let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth;
if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
Remember, O LORD,
the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem;
who said, "Rase it, rase it, even to the foundations."
O daughter of Babylon, who is to be destroyed;
happy is he who repays you
for what you have done to us.
Happy is he who seizes your infants
and dashes them against the rocks.

Psalm 136

O give thanks unto the LORD;
for he is good:
for his mercy endures for ever.
O give thanks unto the God of gods:
for his mercy endures for ever.
O give thanks to the Lord of lords:
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him who alone does great wonders:
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him that by wisdom made the heavens:
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him that stretched out the earth above the waters:
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him that made great lights:
for his mercy endures for ever.
The sun to rule by day:
for his mercy endures for ever.
The moon and stars to rule by night:
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him that smote Egypt in their the firstborn:
for his mercy endures for ever.
And brought our Israel from among them:
for his mercy endures for ever.
With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him which divided the Red sea into parts:
for his mercy endures for ever.
And made Israel pass through the midst of it:
for his mercy endures for ever.
But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea
for his mercy endures for ever.
To him who smote great kings:
for his mercy endures for ever.
And slew famous kings:
for his mercy endures for ever.
Sihon king of the Amorites:
for his mercy endures for ever.
And Og the king of Bashan:
for his mercy endures for ever.
And gave their land for an inheritance:
for his mercy endures for ever.
Even an inheritance unto Israel his servant:
for his mercy endures for ever.
Who remembered us in our low state:
for his mercy endures for ever.
And has redeemed us from our enemies:
for his mercy endures for ever.
Who gives food to all flesh:
for his mercy endures for ever.
O give thanks to the God of all heaven:
for his mercy endures for ever.

Psalm 135

Praise ye the LORD.
Praise ye the name of the LORD;
praise him, O ye servants of the LORD.
You that stand in the house of the LORD,
in the courts of the house of our God,
Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good:
sing praises unto his name;
for it is pleasant.
For the LORD has chosen Jacob unto himself,
and Israel for his peculiar treasure.
For I know that the LORD is great,
and that the LORD is above all gods.
Whatsoever the LORD pleased,
that did he in heaven,
and in earth,
in the seas,
and all deep places.
He caused the vapours
to ascend from the ends of the earth;
he made lightnings from the rain;
he brings the wind out of his treasuries.
Who smote the firstborn of Egypt,
both of man and beast.
Who sent signs and wonders into your midst,
O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all is servants.
Who smote great nations,
and slew mighty kings;
Sihon king of the Amorites,
and Og king of Bashan,
and all the kingdoms of Canaan:
and gave their land for an inheritance,
an inheritance for Israel his people.
Your name, O LORD, endures forever;
and your memorial, O LORD,
throughout all generations.
For the LORD will judge his people,
and have compassion on his servants.
The idols of the heathen are silver and gold,
the work of men's hands.
They have mouths, but they speak not,
eyes have they, but they see not;
They have ears, but they hear not;
neither is there any breath in their mouths.
They that make them are like them,
so is everyone who trusts them.
Bless the LORD, O house of Israel:
bless the LORD, O house of Aaron:
Bless the LORD, O house of Levi:
you that fear the LORD, bless the LORD.
Blessed be the LORD out of Zion,
who dwells at Jerusalem.
Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 134

Praise the LORD, all you servants of the LORD
who minister by night in the house of the LORD.
Lift up your hands in the sanctuary
and praise the LORD.
May the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth,
bless you from Zion

Psalm 133

How good and how pleasant it is
when brothers live together in unity.
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron's beard,
down upon the collar of his robes.
It is as if the dew of Hermon
were falling on Mount Zion.
For there God bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore.

Psalm 132

O LORD, remember David
and all the hardships he endured.
He swore an oath to the LORD
and made a vow to the mighty one of Jacob:
I will not enter my house or go to my bed-
I will allow no sleep to my eyes,
no slumber to my eyelids,
till I find a place for the LORD,
a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.
We heard it in Ephrathah,
we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:
let us go to his dwelling place;
let us worship at his footstool-
arise, O LORD, and come to your resting place,
you and the ark of your might.
May your priests be clothed with righteousness;
may your saints sing for joy.
For the sake of David your servant,
do not reject your anointed one.
The LORD swore an oath to David,
a sure oath that he will not revoke:
one of your own descendants
I will place on your throne-
if your sons keep my covenant
and the statutes I teach them,
then their sons will sit
on your throne for ever and ever.
For the LORD has chosen Zion,
he has desired it for his dwelling:
This is my resting place for ever and ever;
here I will sit enthroned,
for I have desired it-
I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor will I satisfy with food.
I will clothe her priests with salvation,
and her saints will ever sing for joy.
Here I will  make a horn grow for David
and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
I will clothe his enemies with shame,
but the crown on his head will be resplendent.

Psalm 131

My heart is not proud, O LORD,
my eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
or things that are too wonderful for me.
But I have stilled and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child with its mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me.
O Israel, put your hope in the LORD
both now and evermore.

Psalm 130

Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
O LORD, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins,
O LORD, who could stand?
But with you, there is forgiveness
therefore you are feared.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the LORD
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
 more than watchmen wait for the morning.
O Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Psalm 129

They have greatly oppressed me from my youth -
let Israel say -
they have greatly oppressed me from my youth,
but they have not gained the victory over me.
Ploughmen have ploughed my back
and made their furrows long.
But the LORD is righteous;
he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.
May all who hate Zion
be turned back in shame.
May they grow like grass on the roof,
which withers before it can grow;
with it the reaper cannot fill his hands,
nor the one who gathers fill his arms.
May those who pass by not say,
"The blessing of the LORD be upon you;
we bless you in the name of the LORD."

Psalm 128

Blessed is everyone that fears the LORD;
that walks in his ways.
For you shall eat the labour of your hands:
happy you shall be, and it will be well with you.
Your wife shall be as a fruitful vine
by the sides of your house:
your children like olive plants
round about your table.
Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD.
The LORD shall bless you from Zion:
and you shall see the good of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.
Yes, you will see your children's children,
and peace upon Israel.
