Proverbs Chapter 7 6-27

At the window of my house
I looked out through the lattice.
I saw among the simple,
I noticed among the youths,
a young man devoid of understanding.
He was going down the street near her corner;
and he went the way to her house
in the twilight,
in the evening,
in the black and dark night.
And, behold, there met him a woman,
dressed as a harlot,
and subtle of heart.
(She is loud and defiant, her feet never stay at home;
now she is outside,
now in the streets,
and lies in wait at every corner.)
So she caught him
and kissed him
and with a brazen face she said:
I have peace offerings with me;
this day I have prayed my vows.
So I have come out to meet you;
I have looked for you and found you.
I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry,
with carved works,
with fine linen of Egypt.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.
Come, let us drink deep of love until the morning;
let's enjoy ourselves with love!
My husband is not at home;
he has gone on a long journey.
He took his purse filled with money
and will not be home until full moon.
With her much fair speech she caused him to yield,
with the flattering of her lips she seduced him.
At once he followed her
like an ox going to the slaughter,
like a deer stepping into a noose
till an arrow pierces his liver,
like a bird darting into a snare,
little knowing it will cost him his life.
Now then my sons,
listen to me;
pay attention to what I say.
Do not let your heart turn to her ways
or stray into her paths.
Many are the victims she has brought down;
many strong men have been slain by her.
her house is the way to hell,
going sown into the chambers of death.
