Proverbs 13 10-20

Only by pride comes contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathers by labour shall increase.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick: but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.
Whoso despises the word shall be destroyed: but he that fears the commandment shall be rewarded.
The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Good understanding gives favour: but the way of the transgressors is hard.
Every prudent man deals with knowledge: but a fool lays open his folly.
A wicked messenger falls into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuses instruction: but he that regards reproof shall be honoured.
The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.
He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Proverbs 13 1-9

A wise son hears his father's instructions
but a scorner does not hear rebuke.
A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth
but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
He that guards his mouth guards his life
but he that speaks rashly shall have destruction.
The sluggard desires and gets nothing
but the soul of the diligent is fully satisfied.
A righteous man hates lying
but a wicked man is loathsome and comes to shame.
Righteousness guards the man of integrity
but wickedness overthrows the sinner.
One man pretends to be rich but has nothing
another pretends to be poor yet has great riches.
A man's riches may ransom his life
but a poor man hears no threat.
The light of the righteous rejoices
but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

Proverbs 12 20-28

Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil,
but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
No harm befalls the just,
but the wicked have their fill of trouble.
Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD,
but they that deal truly are his delight.
A prudent man conceals knowledge,
but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule,
but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Heaviness in the heart of man makes it stoop,
but a good word makes it glad.
A righteous man is cautious in friendship,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
The lazy man does not roast his game,
but the diligent man prizes his possessions.
In the way of righteousness there is life;
along that path is immortality.

Proverbs Chapter 12 10-19

A righteous man regards the life of his beast:
but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread:
but he that chases fantasies lacks judgement.
The wicked desire the plunder of evil men:
but the root of the righteous flourishes.
An evil man is trapped by his sinful talk:
but a righteous man escapes trouble.
From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things
as surely as the work of his hands rewards him.
The way of a fool seems right to him,
but a wise man listens to advice.
A fool shows his annoyance at once,
but a prudent man overlooks an insult.
A truthful witness gives honest testimony,
but a false witness tells lies.
Reckless words pierce like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise is health.
The lips of truth shall be established forever,
but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Proverbs Chapter 12 1-9

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is stupid.
A good man obtains favour from the LORD:
but a man of wicked devices is condemned.
A man shall not be established by wickedness:
but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband:
but she that makes ashamed is as rottenness to his bones.
The thoughts of the righteous are right:
but the counsels of the wicked is deceit.
The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood:
but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
The wicked are overthrown and are no more:
but the house of the upright shall stand.
A man shall be commended according to his wisdom:
but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
Better to be a nobody and have a servant,
than to pretend to be somebody and have no food.

Proverbs Chapter 11 25-31

A generous man will prosper;
he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
People curse the man who hoards grain,
but blessings crown him who is willing to sell.
He who seeks good finds goodwill,
but evil comes to him who searches for it.
Whoever trusts in his riches will fall.
but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
and he who wins souls is wise.
If the righteous receive their due on earth,
how much more the ungodly and the sinner!

Proverbs Chapter 11 18-24

The wicked work a deceitful work,
but he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
As righteousness tends to life,
so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
They that are of a perverse heart are an abomination to the LORD;
but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
Though hand in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished,
but those who are righteous will go free.
Like a gold ring in a pig's snout
is a beautiful woman who is without discretion
the desire of the righteous ends only in good,
but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
There are those that give freely and yet increase,
and there are those who withhold more than is meet,
but it comes to poverty.
